The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has just decided to convene the 5th unusual meeting. This session is expected to open on January 15 and end on January 18, 2024.

The news reported that at the December last year session of the National Assembly Standing Committee, General Secretary of the National Assembly proposed to submit to the National Assembly at the 5th extraordinary session, to review through the draft Land Law (amendment), Draft Law on Credit Institutions (amended), if eligible.
Accordingly, on the afternoon of January 8, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly opened the 29th session to give comments on the preparation for this unusual meeting, and at the same time review the personnel work authorization.
According to observers, if deduced by the exclusion method, based on the basis, the importance of the 5th unusual session this time, related to the personnel issue, if any changes, then the title related to the personnel of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. According to observers, there is a very clear manifestation, that is General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, since the beginning of 2024, did not appear in state media. The last time the General Secretary appeared was at the Eighth National Congress of Vietnam Farmers’ Association on December 26, 2023.
Notably, Nguyen Phu Trong did not attend and spoke at an important conference of the Government and the annual local leaders.
