53 people die in traffic accidents during three days of public holidays in Vietnam

53 people died and 67 were injured out of a total of 89 traffic accidents that occurred during the three days of National Day holiday in Vietnam. State media quoted statistics from the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security and said that these numbers were all increased compared to the previous year.

 

Specifically, the number of traffic accidents increased by 32 cases, the number of deaths increased by 19 and the number of injured people increased by 21.

 

On September 3 alone, there were 32 traffic accidents in Vietnam, killing 20 people and injuring 26 others.

 

On this occasion every year, traffic police are mobilized to sanction cases of violation of traffic regulations. According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security quoted by the state media, on September 3, the National Traffic Police handled 8,920 cases of violation, fined more than VND19 billion, stripped 2,006 driver’s licenses of all vehicles and seize 139 cars, 3,600 motorbikes and 32 other vehicles. About one-third of the cases are related to alcohol violations and more than 1,700 cases are related to speed violations.
